Day 1: It’s the revival of Macrame! Inspired by the 70’s fad (and probably seen in your grandma’s home) it has been revived with a tasteful modern appeal. Create your own beautiful and unique macrame wall hanging and bring texture and life to your space.
Day 2: Indigo dye Indigo is one of the oldest and most magical of all the natural dyes. Come spend the day immersed in the history, alchemy and beauty of the natural Indigo plant.
Supplies provided: all macrame materials, indigo dye, reducing agent and scouring agent, scouring soap, digital scale and measuring cups, buckets for dye and water x14, pieces of cotton (2 per student), cotton tote bag (1 per student), clothesline, and pegs.
Students are to bring: long rubber dish-washing gloves, apron or work clothes,one other piece to dye (optional).Only natural fibers will accept the dye (cotton, linen or silk) Suitable size pieces are: pillow case, t shirt, napkin, apron, or similar.
