It’s the revival of Macramé! Inspired by the 70’s fad (and probably seen in your grandma’s home) it has been revived with a tasteful modern appeal. Create your own beautiful, unique macrame wall hanging and let texture bring life to your space. Macramé is making a reappearance in today’s decor. Wall hangings, plant hangers, and more can be found all over walls in modern homes and store fronts giving character and texture to the space. Diana will teach you several different knotting techniques, and you will be provided with everything you need to take home a completed macramé piece.
Day one, students will learn basic principles of macrame, including a variety of knots and create a wall hanging Day two, students will learn more abstract or three dimensional techniques to diversify this fibre art to make a one-of-a-kind piece.
Instructor:
At home in the mountains, connected to the forest, in love with the wild – Diane is inspired by all things West Coast. She tries to create pieces that are slightly raw and untamed, to bring an element of wild love and natural beauty to your home. Her artwork varies from large macramé backdrops or installations, to textured weavings, and original dreamcatchers. Whenever possible she tries to incorporate little pieces of nature into her art; feathers, bark, flowers, help mimic the natural textures nature has so beautifully created.
